"Four years ago we tried Bird Gard. As soon as we hooked it up the the birds flew up in chaos. We've been using it ever since."

Repel Blackbirds

Just because a bird is black does not mean it is a blackbird. In order for Bird Gard to effectively repel a blackbird, we need to know the specific species of bird, such as one of the following species of blackbirds.

Brewers Blackbirds

Brewers blackbirds are common pest birds found throughout western North America. These birds often travel in flocks, making stops in residential areas and in livestock feedlots as they migrate. Male Brewer’s blackbirds are a glossy, striking coloration of black, blue, and iridescent green with a bright yellow eye, while females are brown.

Common Grackle

The Common grackle is a slightly larger variation of a Brewer’s blackbird. They have glossy, black-green-purple iridescent coloration with golden eyes. The female Common grackle looks similar to the male, except with a slightly less iridescent coloration. Common grackles travel in large flocks and are found from mid-western to eastern North America.

Red-Winged Blackbirds

Red-winged blackbirds are one of the most well-recognized birds in North America. Males have the trademark scarlet and yellow shoulder coloration, which stands out from their black bodies, while the females are brown in coloration. The calls of males are a distinct low to high, conk-a-lee song that is easily recognizable. Red-winged blackbirds are often times pest birds found in feedlots for livestock, in fruit orchards, and in berry fields.

Yellow-headed Blackbirds

Yellow-headed blackbirds are common pest birds found near freshwater wetlands. These birds can be found scavenging for food in fields or open agriculture areas. Male Yellow-headed blackbirds are black with yellow heads and chests, with a white patch at the bend of their wings. Female Yellow-headed blackbirds are brown with duller yellow heads.

Effective Blackbird Repellent

If your crops have been damaged by blackbirds, a Bird Gard unit can start protecting your vineyard, orchards, or other crops from these nuisance birds today. Bird Gard achieves exceptional protection from birds by offering complete coverage of an area where blackbirds are present. Areas not fully protected by Bird Gard will allow blackbirds to begin feeding at the fringes of the sound coverage. The complete coverage provided by Bird Gard forces blackbirds to leave your vineyard, orchard, or other crops permanently.

Electronic Bird Control

Bird Gard units are designed to effectively and permanently remove blackbirds from your property. A built-in microprocessor in our electronic bird control units continually randomizes the order the sounds play and the relative pitch of each bird sound to give the impression many birds are in distress in the Bird Gard protected area. This random technology prevents blackbirds from becoming habituated and keeps birds out of your vineyard, crop, or orchard all the way through harvest.
